Jocelyn Sterenchock is a young professional residing in the Greater Hazleton area of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Originally from the Metro Atlanta area, Jocelyn moved to Pennsylvania in 2004 and is a graduate of Hazleton Area High School. She earned an Associate Degree in Business & Hospitality from the McCann School of Business & Technology in 2011 and a Bachelor Degree in Business with a minor in Marketing from Central Penn College in 2019. Her resume consists of marketing positions in numerous sectors from roadway infrastructure to optometry. Jocelyn was also the executive director of local grassroots young professional’s organization, Hazleton POWER! for four years.
Currently, Jocelyn holds the position of Director of Economic Development for CAN DO, Inc. She is responsible for forwarding entrepreneurship by way of the CAN BE Innovation Center, as well as initiating workforce and marketing initiatives that align with the organization's mission and strategic plan. She also develops and manages support programs for entrepreneurs and provides leadership for the overall promotion of entrepreneurship in Greater Hazleton primarily through THInC (the Hazleton Innovation Collaborative).
Jocelyn has a passion for volunteering and civic involvement and currently sits on multiple boards and advisory committees within her community, including the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of SCORE, Partners in Education, SHINE, The Luzerne County Community College Hazleton Campus Advisory Board, Big Brothers Big Sister of NEPA, and the Greater Hazleton COVID-19 Taskforce – specifically within the Recovery & Resilience division. Outside of her community-based activities and responsibilities, Jocelyn enjoys spending whatever downtime she can find with her wife, Megan, and their rescue dogs, Mac & Dee, hiking, biking, and finding new small-town adventures.
